The Director of ERP will be a key leader, owning the successful
end-to-end implementation and strategic roadmap of an enterprise-wide Finance ERP platform , with a focus on Oracle JDE Enterprise One. This role acts as the
primary bridge
between senior enterprise leadership (VP IT Platforms, VP Corporate Systems), business stakeholders, and delivery squads, driving consistent design, configuration, technical integration, and performance. You will be responsible for aligning stakeholders across technology, finance, and operations, ensuring the solution is scalable, performant, and meets the demands of the global enterprise.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and Strategy
Program Ownership:
Act as the primary delivery partner to program leadership, defining and managing the strategic ERP roadmap based on business needs, and aligning with the Program Manager and ERP Architect.
Stakeholder Alignment:
Engage senior executives and stakeholders to align on priorities, strategic trade-offs, business strategies, and ensuring continued agreement on risks and mitigation strategies.
Thought Leadership:
Provide technology thought leadership to address complex business demands, ensuring deliverables meet business outcomes and enable value creation.
Program Governance:
Define and manage an annual budget with strong governance and reporting. Effectively manage program scope, competing priorities, and requirements changes, and resolve complex issues while ensuring adherence to Enterprise Architecture Governance.
Risk & Mitigation:
Identify potential risks and issues related to the ERP implementation and develop, recommend, and execute necessary mitigation strategies.
Platform Execution & Technical Oversight
Implementation Leadership:
Lead the ERP platform implementation for the Finance transformation project, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, IT) to gather requirements and define project scope.
Delivery Standards:
Collaborate with the Program Manager and external implementation partners to establish delivery standards, methodologies, and KPIs, ensuring high-quality outcomes and aligning vendor priorities.
Technical Expertise:
Act as the lead subject matter expert, providing expert oversight for
platform integration, technical delivery, data migration, and custom development .
Oversee the technical configuration, customization, and integration of the ERP system with existing IT infrastructure, supporting upstream and downstream interactions.
Drive the strategy for complex technical areas, including integrations with enterprise systems and custom development.
Deep understanding of
Oracle JDE Enterprise One
modules (Financials, Projects) and familiarity with the Oracle EPM suite (FCCS, ARCS, EDM).
Governance & Integrity:
Enforce ERP governance and template design to uphold the integrity of the system and ensure the solution is scalable and performant.
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team, including direct reports and external consultants, to achieve program objectives, fostering accountability, collaboration, and a high-achievement environment.
Talent Development:
Set vision and direction for team members, defining deliverables and KPIs. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, assessing current capabilities, aligning to future transformational roles, and establishing a succession plan for key positions.
Change Management:
Partner within IT and work across functional teams to lead the change management and ensure the successful adoption of the ERP system.
What You Need to Succeed Must-Have
Experience:
15+ years
of ERP implementation experience, specifically leading large-scale, multi-entity ERP rollouts in financial or Home builder institutions.
Technical Expertise:
Expertise in
Oracle JDE E1 , including Subledger, General Ledger and integration with enterprise systems.
Implementation Success:
Proven success in ERP governance, global template design, and entity rollouts, with hands‑on leadership in all program workstreams (design, configuration, integration, reporting, data migration).
Leadership & Communication:
Strong communication, negotiation, and
senior stakeholder management skills , with demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and act as the liaison between business and IT (translating technical details to business value and vice versa).
Team Management:
Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed teams of consultants, developers, and integration specialists.
Education:
Holds an undergraduate and/or post‑graduate degree (preferably in Business, Finance, or Information Technology/Computer Science).
Nice-to-Have
Experience in construction or financial industry.
Multiple ERP implementation (finance modules).
Lead role in big four consulting firm or 20B+ company.
Job Specifications
Reporting:
6 to 8 direct reports, with oversight of the external partner teams.
Work Environment:
5 days a week in office (Dallas, Miami or Bentonville)
Travel:
Occasional travel (less than 20%) is expected.
