A leading law firm is seeking an

experienced, diligent, and proactive Government Contracts Attorney

to join its Chambers-ranked Government Contracts group. This is an opportunity to join a growing, dynamic, and highly regarded team working on sophisticated matters across a variety of industries.

About the Role The ideal candidate will have

5–9 years of experience

practicing federal government contracts law, preferably within a law firm environment. Candidates should possess strong analytical, research, and writing skills, along with hands‑on experience across a broad range of government contracts matters.

This role is designed for attorneys who are intellectually curious, proactive, and capable of managing certain matters independently. Candidates with interest in long‑term career growth—including partnership—are strongly encouraged to apply. Opportunities for

thought leadership , including writing and speaking on government contracts topics, will also be available.

Key Responsibilities

Handle bid protests before the GAO, Court of Federal Claims, and other forums

Provide counseling and interpretation of the FAR, DFARS, and other acquisition regulations

Draft Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), claims, and related analyses

Represent clients in Contract Disputes Act (CDA) claim litigation

Advise on federal subcontracting, flow‑down requirements, and related disputes

Address issues involving terminations for convenience/default

Counsel on organizational conflicts of interest (OCIs)

Assist with suspension and debarment matters

Advise on multiple award contracts and small business procurement issues

Support government contracts aspects of M&A transactions (GovCon M&A experience is a plus)

Work with clients across industries such as aerospace/defense, infrastructure/construction, life sciences/pharmaceutical, and manufacturing (industry experience helpful but not required)

Qualifications

Minimum

5 years of experience

practicing federal government contracts law (6–9 years preferred)

Prior law firm experience in government contracts strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to work independently where appropriate

Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills

Strong interest in client development and long‑term career growth
