Organization Overview Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) is the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 6,700 TK‑College students across 30 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. BGCP is committed to ensuring socio‑economically disadvantaged students have equitable access to opportunities that help them thrive.

Position Overview The College Success Manager will work with college students to provide resources, support, tools, and navigational skills to successfully complete higher education. Responsibilities include transitioning current high school seniors into the postgraduate cohort, managing a caseload of ~80 students across various institutions, and implementing the postsecondary Future Grads program.

Roles & Responsibilities

Implement the Future Grads Postsecondary Program, including goals, activities, and events both in-person and virtually.

Assist in transitioning high school seniors into the postsecondary portion of the program.

Meet one‑to‑one with caseload of ~80 students at community colleges, state universities, private universities, and vocational routes to aid in completing postsecondary goals.

Establish and hold students accountable to action plans.

Maintain organized student records and track program activities on Salesforce.

Develop and cultivate partnerships with colleges and community partners.

Build collaborative relationships with Future Grads & BGCP personnel.

Manage communication with students, families, school staff, volunteer coaches, and partners.

Support collaborative college success and high school programs & events.

Demonstrate strong leadership qualities, coordinating, inspiring, and motivating others.

Ensure postsecondary program success, maintaining student participation through check‑ins and workshops.

Collaborate with the entire Future Grads & BGCP High School teams.

Showcase high‑level communication skills, both written and oral.

Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

2+ years working with high school or college‑aged students.

Ability to navigate various higher education institutions and financial aid systems.

Experience steering students through financial aid & transfer application processes.

Background working in an ethnically diverse community and meeting the needs of those groups.

Strong initiative, self‑starter, intrinsically motivated, problem solver, and independent worker.

Strong interpersonal skills and youth development experience.

Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook) and Canva; familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram).

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Spanish language ability strongly desired.

Physical Requirements And Work Environment The job requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching overhead, crouching, squatting, and/or crawling. Approximately 80% sitting, 20% walking & standing. Moderate noise level, occasionally noisy. Reasonable accommodations available.

Location On‑site in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City, Daly City, South San Francisco.

Work Schedule Monday‑Friday, 11:00 am or 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm or 9:00 pm; occasional weekends.

Compensation & Benefits

Employment Status: Full‑Time Hourly

Pay Range: $31.00 – $34.00 per hour (DOE)
