We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Equities and Fixed Income Front Office Engineering Lead – Full‑Stack Engineer to join our BUY SIDE TRADING BUSINESS as part of CAPITAL MARKETS. This role is open in Boston, MA and New York, NY.

Responsibilities

Partner with Product, Trading, and end clients to analyze, define, challenge, and solve technical trading workflows.

Manage and mentor a high‑performing engineering team.

Play a key role in the design, architecture, and implementation of:

Trading research platform

Real‑time decision support service

Reporting platform and service

Build a historical and real‑time data‑management platform for a global, multi‑asset trading organisation.

Design and architect API‑driven solutions, utilising open‑source resources.

Partner with extended BNY Controls, Risk and Networking teams to maintain overall architecture and trading compliance.

Drive with an AI‑first mindset toward automation and code‑refactoring.

Drive system stability and reliability through data quality and automation to mitigate risks associated with trade execution.

Hands‑on programming of well‑designed, testable, secure, and efficient code.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of either Equities or Fixed Income trading workflows.

Experience working with Execution Management Systems (EMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS).

FIX protocol/messaging knowledge.

Experience managing a team of highly skilled engineers.

Experience in Python coding. Java or C++ is a plus.

Experience with Equities, Derivatives, Futures, FX, and/or Fixed Income data, analytics, and reporting.

Broad experience with front‑end and server‑side, multi‑platform development tools and toolkits, especially open‑source software.

Experience in formal Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies for projects and problem resolution.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Good organisational skills to coordinate and lead projects.

Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to devise innovative solutions.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, financial engineering, statistics or related discipline OR equivalent work experience.

Compensation The base salary for this position is expected to be between $116,000 and $240,000 per year at commencement. Base salary will be determined on an individualised basis, depending on experience and market location, and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentive packages, and company‑sponsored benefit programmes.

This position is at‑will. The Company reserves the right to modify base salary (and other discretionary payments or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, geographic location, Company or departmental performance, and market factors.
