Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Associate Scientist with a strong background in recombinant protein expression and purification. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on technical expertise, a track record of independently executing workflows, and the ability to support cross‑functional research in biochemistry, structural biology, and related areas.
Education & Experience
BS/MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience
working with recombinant protein expression and purification
Demonstrated experience expressing proteins in
E. coli ,
insect , and/or
mammalian
expression systems
Proven ability to design, troubleshoot, and optimize
protein purification
strategies for a variety of protein classes
Strong proficiency in chromatography techniques and hands‑on experience operating
AKTA FPLC systems
and
Unicorn software
Working knowledge of protein characterization techniques, including
SDS‑PAGE ,
Western blotting ,
intact mass spectrometry , and additional biophysical assays as needed
Familiarity with molecular biology workflows such as construct design, cloning, PCR, and site‑directed mutagenesis
Key Responsibilities
Independently execute protein expression and purification campaigns from small‑scale feasibility to larger‑scale production
Develop and refine purification methods to generate high‑quality proteins for biochemical, biophysical, and structural studies
Perform routine protein QC and analytical characterization; interpret data and clearly communicate results
Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to protocol development, documentation, and data organization
Collaborate closely with team members to support project goals and troubleshoot technical challenges
Contribute to lab operations, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement of workflows
