The Administrative Officer is an experienced professional who will support the day‑to‑day and long‑term operations under the Parking Director. This position is responsible for coordinating administrative processes including monitoring parking and valet operational systems, schedules, capacity tracking, and driving records of UCSF‑approved drivers across campus.
Duties include maintaining accurate records, overseeing revenue transaction processing, generating operational and financial reports, and ensuring adherence to regulations and procedures. The role requires a demonstration of strong organizational and analytical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and the public in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
The Administrative Officer will oversee the planning, management, and daily operations of UCSF’s parking and valet infrastructure across multiple campus locations. The position ensures delivery of high‑quality, customer‑focused services while aligning operations with institutional goals, compliance requirements, and long‑term sustainability objectives. In conjunction with the Interim Director of Parking and managers, the officer will develop and execute short‑ and long‑range strategies in alignment with UCSF’s institutional goals, including access equity, sustainability, and campus growth. The role will also spearhead deployment of modernized parking systems and digital solutions, including kiosks, mobile platforms, and access control integration. Service delivery and data reporting will be optimized through innovation, while monitoring all parking programs and infrastructure, including emerging technology such as hybrid automation, permit issuance and tracking, and time and schedule tracking.
Ensure seamless and equitable services across multiple sites, including Parnassus, Mission Bay, Mount Zion, and satellite locations. Ensure compliance with ADA, life safety, UC policies, audit standards, and environmental regulations. Respond to critical incidents, emergency operations, and infrastructure failures.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
Salary Range:
$78,900 – $167,300 (Annual Rate)

Department Description The UCSF Department of Transportation manages transit services for UCSF students, faculty, patients, visitors and employees. Transit operations include 13 fixed routes and on‑demand services supporting nearly 2.5 million annual riders. Parking operations include over 25 parking garages and lots across the city, with over 7,500 spaces. The parking team also manages an extensive permit program, parking enforcement, citation adjudication, and other parking‑related services. The Department promotes clean and sustainable transportation modes including walking, bicycling, carpool/vanpool, car‑sharing program, electric scooter sharing program, etc. The Department has over 190 positions with an annual operating budget of over $45 million.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area and 3+ years of related work experience; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.
Broad knowledge of UC Transportation policies and procedures or equivalent experience in transportation, events, public administration, mobility transportation, or a combination of these.
Interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, and advising skills.
Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
Ability to collaborate, coordinate and integrate with others throughout the organization, maintaining cooperative working relationships with professional and administrative staff, peers, multidisciplinary team members, management and outside agencies.
Solid knowledge of common University‑specific computer application programs.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Strong skills in short‑term planning, analysis, problem‑solving, and customer service.
Solid organizational and customer service skills to structure unit operations and lead staff in an efficient and effective manner.
Solid verbal and written communication skills to explain program policies and processes, actively listen, persuade, advise, and counsel.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and execute plans to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in developing, implementing and assessing programs.
Strong subject matter knowledge of transit operations and management to train and guide employees, applying principles to ensure operations meet UC policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations.
