Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a leading law firm on a Plaintiff‑Side Settlement Attorney opportunity. While the ideal candidate is based in Chicago or DC, the firm is open to remote candidates as well.
The Opportunity The firm is seeking a Settlement Attorney who can design, plan, and execute plaintiff‑side mass tort settlements. This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented attorney who excels at process management, precision, and cross‑functional coordination. The role involves managing thousands of client matters at once, requiring someone who is highly organized, tech‑savvy, and exceptionally comfortable working in Excel and project management systems to track more than 300 clients and cases at various stages of settlement.
Highlights
Manage complex, large‑scale settlement processes and ensure compliance with Master Settlement Agreements and other settlement requirements.
Collaborate with client services teams to communicate with clients, obtain records, and collect signed settlement documents.
Maintain detailed settlement trackers and documentation using Excel and project management tools such as Monday.com.
Coordinate closely with settlement administrators, lien resolution providers, and defense counsel to execute settlements efficiently and accurately.
Draft, review, and manage settlement documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness across a high‑volume caseload.
Conduct targeted legal research related to settlement structure, implementation, and administration.
Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
5+ years of legal experience, ideally in settlement administration, mass tort, product liability, or complex litigation.
Strong ability to manage high‑volume settlements and coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent drafting skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Must be highly organized, Excel proficient, and comfortable using project management and technology tools to track 300 plus active client matters.
High level of professionalism, judgment, and discretion.
