Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director to lead a foundational OCI service – Virtual Networking Dataplane. The VCN Dataplane is central to almost every OCI strategic initiative. In this role, you will drive the strategy, design, delivery, and operational excellence of software components of the VCN Dataplane – the networking virtualization stack for OCI. You will lead a highly technical, geographically distributed team and partner with key stakeholders across OCI to deliver on strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

Define product strategy and roadmap by partnering with product management and senior leaders.

Represent your organization at the VP and SVP level.

Operate large‑scale software fleets to ensure services meet OCI’s scale requirements.

Collaborate with team, peers, and senior leadership to identify product and customer requirements, coordinate delivery, and integrate solutions.

Recruit and build a capable, cohesive engineering team that delivers complex projects on time.

Influence other teams and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Qualifications

A BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum 10 years of people management experience with a proven track record in managing large‑scale critical services.

Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, resource management, and performance optimization in a technology‑driven environment.

Exceptional decision‑making abilities, with experience influencing senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.

Strong background in recruiting, developing, and leading senior individual contributors and building high‑performing teams.

Ability to make decisions that significantly impact the organization’s infrastructure, with potential implications for revenue and long‑term operational success.

Expertise in low‑level programming languages (C/C++) and distributed systems; experience in networking and cloud infrastructure operations.

Experience managing a large‑scale critical service in a cloud computing environment.

Salary Range (US): $141,200 to $338,500 per annum, plus eligibility for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package.
