Clinical Dietitian – Clinical Nutrition – Day Shift
Join the team at NewYork‑Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, a 591‑bed hospital affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College. In this role you evaluate and counsel pediatric patients in our outpatient gastrointestinal and weight‑loss practices, developing and reassessing nutritional care plans and providing education. All dietary information is documented in the medical chart, and care is delivered in accordance with the hospital’s policies and HIPAA regulations.
Salary Range:
$41.41/hr – $47.41/hr
Responsibilities
Evaluate and counsel pediatric patients in outpatient GI and weight‑loss practices.
Conduct nutritional assessment, develop care plans, and reassess and educate patients as needed.
Document all dietary information in the medical chart.
Provide care consistent with NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
Preferred Criteria
1 year of experience with knowledge of medical nutrition therapy.
Required Criteria
Bachelor’s degree with completion of an ADA approved internship.
Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Certification by the State of New York as a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (NYS).
Knowledge of clinical nutrition with emphasis on the nutritional needs of patients.
Excellent counseling skills and ability to relate to a multi‑ethnic community and varied learning levels.
Good critical thinking skills to make fast and accurate assessment of patients.
All roles require on‑site presence (variable by role). Employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
