Clinical Director, Specialty Ops Location: Downers Grove, IL - Full-Time, 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday (business hours may vary)

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and execute clinical care models focusing on preventive care and improved patient outcomes across specialties.

Manage and train clinical staff (nurse case managers, care coordinators) to ensure adherence to new policies and procedures for value‑based care initiatives.

Develop clinical productivity standards and provide coaching and remediation for underperformance.

Utilize data and analytics to monitor key performance indicators such as hospital admission rates, emergency utilization, disease progression, and utilization metrics.

Oversee programs and tools that enhance patient education, engagement, and care coordination.

Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff to align with value‑based care goals, providing education and performance‑management feedback.

Ensure all clinical operations meet regulatory and compliance standards within the evolving healthcare landscape; maintain knowledge of current case‑management standards.

Coach, mentor, and develop clinical staff including RNs and care coordinators.

Participate in interviewing and selection of new hires.

Review and act on population‑health dashboards to address care gaps.

Provide regular, timely communication regarding project status, challenges, and required actions; develop documentation tools for new programs/products and monitor their outcomes.

Qualifications

Applied knowledge of healthcare business processes and extensive experience with complex, high‑acuity patients.

Knowledge of chronic conditions and related workflows, including congestive heart failure, chronic kidney disease, and related comorbidities.

Interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence, develop relationships across interdisciplinary teams.

Entrepreneurial mindset geared toward creation, execution and continuous improvement.

Proven skills in program and product development.

Organizational, time‑management, and presentation skills.

Detail‑oriented and holds self to high standards of work product.

Strong analytical and critical thinking; ability to gather, process, synthesize, and structure key insights from various information sources.

Effective problem analysis and proactive patient advocacy.

Excellent verbal communication; ability to convey information clearly and succinctly to diverse audiences.

Collaboration skills: cohesive team player, receptive to criticism, adaptable, and consistent with work rules.

Proficiency with EPIC, web‑based applications, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Ability to manage clinical staff in a remote environment.

Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Education and Certification/License

Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.

Certified Case Manager (CCM) certification preferred.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience

5+ years working in value‑based care or strong specialty care experience in cardiac care or kidney disease care.

5+ equivalent years of related education, experience, or certification.

Management experience preferred.

Work Environment

Primarily conducted via telecommunication in a remote setting; occasional visits to provider offices or in‑person team meetings with advanced planning.

Occasional off‑site visits may be required for staff training or information retrieval.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $95k‑145k, with actual pay determined by skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
