Essential Duties and Responsibilities Venue Management
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs all activities and personnel engaged in maintaining and operating the facility.
Develops and implements facility goals in accordance with the management contract, the client’s objectives, Legends Global policy and good business practice.
Evaluates facility practices and recommends improvements to better reflect the client’s needs and the facility’s efficiency and safety in compliance with Legends Global policies and procedures.
Oversees the development of an annual operating calendar, activity schedules, dates and hours of operations, and projections for attendance and revenue.
Aggressively promotes the use of the facility to maximize its utilization and negotiates lease agreements that are in the best interests of the facility.
Directs the procurement of activities and events and negotiates contracts and agreements with industry organizers, agents and associates in the best interest of the facility.
Directs the development of and sustains plans, programs, policies and procedures that promote the highest level of employee engagement, safety and service, conduct and performance.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with community and civic organizations, city personnel, media, tenants, employees and guests.
Ensures facility involvement with Convention and Visitors Bureau and other destination marketing agencies.
Provides control of day‑to‑day operations, ensuring efficient and effective implementation and coordination of plans, programs and events. Conducts post‑event operational and financial review and analysis.
Assures the coordination, implementation and administration of specific plans, programs and reporting for client/contract administrator and prescribed by Legends Global directives, including training and development, quality assurance, energy efficiency, facility management (OSHA requirements), safety, emergency procedures, crowd control and crisis management procedures or other areas as needed.
Provides or coordinates timely and effective responses to requests received from internal and external organizations, agencies, departments and individuals; ensuring and maintaining the integrity of the facility and Legends Global in all forms of communication and personal contacts.
Provides final approval of all contracts and agreements with suppliers, promoters and tenants for necessary activities and services at the facility.
Budget Preparation & Reporting
Prepares, implements and monitors a detailed program budget.
Prepares and maintains required and necessary reports/records for the city and/or management firm and Legends Global.
Directs the development and execution of operating and marketing financial plans and documents, including operating revenue and expense budgets, wage and hour budgets and capital expense plans and budgets.
Staff Management
Responsible for hiring, training, supervising and evaluating direct reports and key management staff.
Conducts marketing, budgeting and weekly staff meetings.
Determines and establishes organizational structure and personnel staffing requirements to best ensure the effective and efficient utilization of personnel talent.
Oversees and advises Human Resources on any necessary revisions or modifications to the staffing plans, including number and types of employees, essential functions, salaries and benefits.
Special projects as requested by Legends Global.
Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience
BA/BS Degree (4‑year) in Business, Public Administration or related field.
7‑10 years of experience supervising management‑level and line‑level employees.
3‑5 years of venue management experience.
Preferred if applicants have an advanced degree.
Proven track record of leadership abilities including integrity, influence and business ethics.
Proven track record of developing and managing budgets.
Experience in contract negotiation, business law, purchasing procedures and supervising a large number of staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and organizational ability. Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.
Ability to work simultaneously with a broad variety of vested‑interest groups and to foster a cooperative environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices used in the successful management of entertainment or convention facilities of a similar description.
Ability to anticipate problems and implement immediate corrective action.
Ability to perform effectively under significant pressure typically associated with meeting the demands and timetables of the entertainment industry.
Considerable knowledge of event solicitation and presentation, public relations, advertising and media relations and event planning.
Considerable knowledge of safety regulations and other federal, state or local laws and regulations. Strong orientation toward hospitality/customer service for the meeting, convention and entertainment industry.
Basic knowledge of facility operating standards, building maintenance, custodial, personnel and office management.
Effective supervisory skills. Ability to deal effectively with human resource and personnel problems; to deal constructively with conflict; to motivate, provide counsel and execute applicable solutions.
Ability to manage a facility of same size and type.
Must be proficient with computers; MS Office programs such as Word, Excel (spreadsheets) and Outlook.
Ability to operate computer and other office productivity equipment/machinery continually throughout the day.
Ability to move about the venue at times and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays in addition to normal business hours as needed.
Must have professional attitude and appearance.
Some travel required.
Compensation Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
Range: $230,000–$250,000
