Director of Alumnae and Alumni Relations We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and organized individual to serve as the Director of Alumnae and Alumni Relations at Trinity Washington University, a Catholic women’s college and university located in Washington, DC. Salary range: $100,000–$110,000 depending on experience.

As Director, you will work closely with the university president, Vice President for Development, and the Executive Director for Annual and Reunion Giving. This full‑time position may require occasional weekend and evening work and involves continuous engagement with Trinity’s alumnae community ranging from recent graduates of professional degree programs to senior alumni.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive alumnae and alumni relations strategy aligned with Trinity’s mission and advancement goals.

Set measurable goals and key performance indicators for alumnae participation, volunteerism, reunion giving, regional/virtual engagement, and alumnae referrals.

Plan, manage, and evaluate alumnae events and programs: class reunions, regional gatherings, affinity group events, mentoring programs, young alumnae networks, and virtual networking.

Recruit, train, mentor, and manage alumnae volunteers (board members, class leaders, regional chapter leaders, alumnae in careers/mentorship roles).

Collaborate with student affairs and career services to transition graduating students into engaged alumnae.

Oversee alumnae communications strategy (email newsletters, social media, website content, print/mail, alumnae magazine sections) with the Creative Services Team.

Manage alumnae database and CRM (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge) in partnership with advancement operations to ensure data integrity.

Monitor alumnae analytics and develop dashboards and reports for senior leadership and trustees.

Partner with advancement/fundraising to engage alumnae in philanthropic opportunities—class reunion giving campaigns, volunteer fundraising initiatives, and identification of alumnae donors/prospects.

Support stewardship of alumnae donors through recognition events, communications, and impact reporting.

Maintain a portfolio of alumnae prospects or refer prospects to major gift officers as appropriate.

Qualifications & Competencies

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in alumnae relations, higher education advancement, or related area.

Demonstrated experience designing and executing alumnae/volunteer engagement programs and events.

Strong leadership skills with experience supervising staff.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to engage a diverse alumnae population.

Proficiency with databases/CRMs, alumnae event logistics, and communication channels (email, social media, websites).

Willingness to travel regionally/nationally and work evenings/weekends during key events.

Preferred

Experience in fundraising/advancement (annual giving, major gifts). Understanding of how alumnae engagement links to philanthropy.

Experience in a higher‑education institution; familiarity with alumnae relations best practices and professional associations (e.g., CASE).

Demonstrated success working with boards or alumnae councils.

Master’s degree or equivalent experience.

Experience managing budgets and vendor relations.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment on the Washington DC campus; frequent event presence on‑campus, off‑site, evenings/weekends.

Some regional and national travel required.

Flexible schedule needed during key alumnae events (reunion weekends, major gatherings).
