Position Summary The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is the company's highest-level strategic leader, responsible for setting the company's long-term strategic direction, driving key growth initiatives, assessing external market trends, leading cross-departmental strategic implementation, and ensuring the company's ability to achieve sustainable growth. The CSO typically reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the board of directors and senior management team, being a core driver of corporate strategic planning, business innovation, organizational change, and major decisions.

Key Responsibilities I. Strategic Planning & Development

• Lead the company's annual and long-term strategic planning (3‑5‑year, 10‑year strategic blueprint).

• Analyze macroeconomic conditions, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to develop a clear strategic direction for the company.

• Build corporate growth models, market entry strategies, and portfolio optimization strategies.

• Identify new markets, new products, and new business opportunities, and assess their strategic feasibility.

• Translate strategic goals into actionable business plans and OKR/KPI systems.

• Lead cross-departmental strategic projects, ensuring maximum time, resources, budget, and impact for implementation.

• Drive organizational transformation, including process optimization, structural adjustments, and cultural upgrades.

• Monitor the implementation effectiveness of strategic projects and report progress regularly to the CEO and Board of Directors.

III. Business Innovation & New Growth

• Lead corporate innovation, including new business incubation, product innovation, and business model iteration.

• Drive strategic projects related to digitalization, intelligentization, and automation.

• Establish partnerships with external innovation ecosystems (consulting firms, VCs, startups, research institutions).

• Lead the team to build an innovation pipeline and drive pilot and scaling.

IV. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) & Investment Strategy

• Lead M&A strategy, including target identification, strategic evaluation, due diligence, and integration planning.

• Establish external investment logic and capital operation models (return on investment, synergies).

• Work with the CFO and legal department to drive the design and implementation of transaction structures (Post-Merger Integration).

V. Organization and Management Improvement (Organization Development & Capability Building)

• Examine the company's long-term capabilities (talent, technology, systems) and propose a capability building roadmap.

• Support the senior management team in improving organizational efficiency, cultural consistency, and decision-making quality.

• Build a strategy department team, including strategic analysts, project managers, and industry researchers.

VI. CEO/Board Strategic Advisor Responsibilities (Executive Advisory)

• Provide the CEO with data-driven strategic advice and support for major decisions.

• Work with the board of directors to conduct strategic reviews, risk assessments, and annual strategic reviews.

• Play a key advisory role during critical crises or turning points for the company.

Qualifications Educational Requirements

Master's degree in business administration, strategy, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Experience Requirements

Over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, management consulting, business development, or senior management.

Preference will be given to candidates with senior strategic roles in multinational corporations, technology companies, fast-growing companies, or consulting firms.

Practical experience in strategy formulation and execution, not just theoretical analysis.

Skills Requirements

Excellent systematic thinking, structured analysis, and logical reasoning abilities.

Proficient in strategic tools: Boston Consulting Group (BCG) matrix, SWOT analysis, Five Forces model, PESTEL, Business Model Canvas, etc.

Excellent cross-departmental communication, organizational leadership, and project management skills.

Able to make high-quality decisions in uncertain and volatile environments.

Familiar with financial models, M&A processes, and financial statement analysis.
