This key leadership role will be responsible for the strategic growth and operational management of the Ambulatory Anesthesia Division, fostering excellence in clinical care, research, education, and faculty development. The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment commensurate with experience and qualifications and play a pivotal role in aligning the division with the overall mission and vision of the Department, Medical Center, and Academic Health System.

Highlights

Oversee anesthetic services in ambulatory surgery centers and non‑operating room locations as well as collaborate with health system staff to optimize workflows and patient care delivery.

Lead educational programs for fellows, residents, and medical students, while mentoring faculty in clinical practice, research, and scholarship.

Operational duties include faculty recruitment, retention, performance management, resource allocation, and driving quality improvement initiatives.

Training and/or Experience Required

MD, DO, or equivalent degree.

Board‑certified in Anesthesiology with extensive experience in ambulatory and regional anesthesia

Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina.

Demonstrated record of excellence in clinical care, education, research, and leadership within an academic medical center environment.

Minimum of 5 years of leadership or administrative experience
