Job Overview The Department of Emergency Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) seeks a technical Data Analyst/Scientist. This role focuses on full‑stack development and deployment of applications within real clinical environments rather than traditional static reporting.
Essential Responsibilities
Full‑Stack Application Development: Design, build, and maintain production‑grade web applications. Develop APIs using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django) and build responsive front‑end interfaces (React).
Generative AI Implementation: Collaborate with physicians to integrate and pilot Generative AI tools within clinical workflows; manage compute resources and API integrations.
Data Engineering & Operations: Extract, clean, and model complex clinical data from Snowflake using advanced SQL. Ensure robust, scalable data pipelines.
Infrastructure & Deployment: Containerize applications with Docker and manage deployment pipelines. Ensure software reliability and security in a health‑care setting.
Collaboration: Translate clinical requirements into technical specifications. Work closely with researchers to move projects from “analysis scripts” to deployed software.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Allied Health or related field (High School Diploma required).
1‑3 years related work experience, including application maintenance of relational databases.
Advanced technical computer skills for the functional area and related systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
Experience with modern web frameworks (React, Django, FastAPI).
Experience with containerization (Docker) and software engineering best practices.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) or health‑care data standards.
Ability to write production‑ready code; not suitable for analysts limited to Jupyter Notebooks, R scripting, or dashboard tools.

Pay Range $56,160.00 USD – $97,760.00 USD (annual base). Compensation determined by seniority, education, training, experience, geography, and job responsibilities.
