AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers. AWS Utility Computing Console Services team develops the platforms and tools that support critical AWS control plane and monitoring functions.
Our services ensure that AWS services can control AWS hardware and monitor this hardware for health and functionality.
Our space is fast-moving, with many ambiguous and difficult challenges. You will have a team of highly skilled software developers, support from leadership, and you’ll own your space. You will be responsible for identifying solutions, trying ideas, and having the freedom to fail and iterate to produce products that customers love.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
Compensation for this position ranges from $151,300 to $261,500 per year depending on market location. Equity, sign‑on pay and other compensation may also be offered as part of the total package.
