Tax Manager - Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
Who:
A CPA-certified tax professional with at least five years of public accounting experience and two or more years in a managerial role.
What:
Manages complex tax compliance engagements, identifies tax planning opportunities, leads staff development, reviews complex returns including tax provisions, and serves as the main client point of contact.
When:
Full-time hybrid role available immediately.
Where:
Charlotte, NC, with 2–3 days per week in office.

Position Overview:
The Tax Manager will oversee client tax compliance and planning for businesses in industries including manufacturing, technology, professional services, and health/life sciences. This role involves reviewing complex returns, supporting ASC 740 tax provision work, managing deadlines, communicating with clients, and developing less experienced staff. The ideal candidate excels in technical tax matters, leadership, communication, and project management and thrives in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead tax engagements and review complex corporate and partnership returns.
Identify tax issues and planning opportunities to support client business needs.
Serve as the primary client contact, overseeing deliverables, workflow, and communication.
Provide leadership and mentorship to Tax Staff and Seniors.
Utilize strong analytical and communication skills to support client and team success.
Demonstrate superior client service across all engagements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred).
Active CPA license required.
At least 5 years of public accounting experience, with 2+ years in management.
Strong background with C-Corporations and understanding of partnership taxation.
Knowledge of partnership equity investments preferred.
ASC 740/tax provision experience is a plus.
Solid awareness of client industries and business operations.
