An established, multidisciplinary engineering and design firm is seeking a
Senior Design Engineer (Transportation)
to join its growing transportation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced roadway/transportation engineer ready to take on greater technical responsibility while enjoying a
flexible hybrid work schedule .
What You’ll Do
Lead and support transportation and roadway projects from concept through construction
Prepare
geometric design , alignments, profiles, cross sections, and full construction plan sets
Develop and review construction documents, quantities, and technical drawings
Contribute to state, tollway, and municipal projects (IDOT, CDOT, Tollway, local agencies)
Coordinate with project managers, internal disciplines, and mentor junior staff
Participate in QA/QC reviews and address design comments with accuracy and clarity
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
5+ years
of transportation or roadway engineering experience
Experience working with DOT, municipal, or public agency projects
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency with
MicroStation CONNECT
Experience with
OpenRoads Designer
EIT, PE in progress, or licensed PE
Hybrid work model supporting flexibility and balance
