Centra Medical Group (CMG) CMG is a comprehensive network of nearly 600 employed providers within Centra Health. Centra Health services a population of 600,000 community members with 70 different outpatient and specialty practices. CMG includes family practices, specialists, and surgeons in fields such as cardiology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, urology, and more.
Responsibilities
Admin/leadership time for Medical Director duties
Leadership responsibilities include:
Quality Improvement & Development and implementation of service line policies/procedures
Overall coordination of medical care in CMG ORs, hospital units, and departments caring for surgical patients
Participate in administrative decisions related to ACS, implementing initiatives, protocols for proficiency clinical pathways, and public and staff educational programs
Vacation: 5.5 weeks
Schedule: In-hospital 12-hour shifts, 13 shifts/month
Practice at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, Level II Trauma Center with 358 licensed beds
Dedicated team of 5 acute-care surgeons, 11 general surgeons total
ACS members – 80% “bread-and-butter,” 20% trauma (90% blunt, 10% penetrating)
Opportunity for robotics
Access to large referral network with multiple primary-care offices
Cerner EMR
Excellent opportunities for autonomy and growth
Qualifications
Completion of medical degree and residency training in general surgery
MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board in physician’s primary specialty. Must be board-certified or in the process of certifying.
