Job Summary
Responsible for the organization, scheduling of staff, and directing of the warehouse on a day‑to‑day work plan. Adjust schedules as necessary in both shipping and receiving areas, ensure order accuracy and productivity levels, manage customer cuts when controllable, and maintain the warehouse facility. Coordinates warehouse activities under the direction of the Vice President of Yogurt Operations and trains personnel, both exempt and non‑exempt, to ensure a well‑coordinated shipping, storage, and receiving plan, including validation of the WMS inventory control system.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost‑efficient manner.
Directs the day‑to‑day activities of the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance and inventory control.
Responsible for the accuracy of inventory control.
Responsible for out‑of‑stocks, receiving errors and selection errors.
Generates warehouse productivity reports on selection rates, receiving rates, and accounts for all labor hours, both direct and indirect, adhering to budget requirements and working toward department goals.
Responsible for warehouse equipment, including lift trucks, wrappers and palletizing equipment, and holding operators accountable for equipment damage.
Ensures safe, efficient equipment for the personnel to perform distribution functions.
Responsible for warehouse safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace through supervisory floor activity, following OSHA, food safety, local and company regulations, and assigning sanitation tasks for all shift overlaps.
Recommends equipment requirements and replacements to the Vice President of Yogurt Operations to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
Responsible for the progressive disciplinary process in counseling, oral and written warnings; ensuring a productive labor climate in the warehouse operation.
Ensure compliance with applicable quality systems, standards, and the company’s food safety and security programs, including raw material receiving, storage and supply to internal customers and all Safe Quality Food responsibilities.
Job Qualifications
Must have good supervisory and communication skills.
Related experience preferred.
Must be completely literate with knowledge and understanding of Windows‑based applications, warehouse inventory control systems, Excel and Word.
Must have ability to work on weekends as needed.
