Description The Sr. Development Director/ Major Gifts Officer is responsible, in partnership with the AVP/Chief Development Officer, for overseeing the development, design, and execution of a comprehensive, ongoing philanthropy program with an emphasis on major gifts. The Foundation drives a $600 million campaign, requiring the achievement of significant personal and team dollar goals. Responsibilities include designing, implementing and sustaining a successful fundraising program, including individual and major gifts, planned giving, endowments, donor upgrading, corporate and foundation gifts, special event sponsorships, and enhancing community awareness of the Foundation with a focus on assigned hospitals and/or institutes. The Sr. Development Director will solicit donations and cultivate relationships with donors to secure, upgrade and maintain major and principal gifts for present and long‑term financial support of the system. Personal fundraising goal: $2 M–$4 M; team goal: $2 M–$5 M on average. The personal portfolio ranges over 144 active prospects with 352 active prospects in stewardship.

Estimated pay: $129,932.84 – $168,911.60 per year (dependent on experience).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (required) and a Master’s degree (preferred).

Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience in a successful foundation major gifts program, fundraising or marketing/sales leadership.

Experience in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and providing stewardship for major gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations.

Experience managing major components of an effective development program and proven ability to lead fundraising teams.

Minimum required experience: 7 years.
