Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and at least (eight) 8 years of recent, relevant work experience.

Solid understanding of Cloud Networking, Identity Management, Security Compliance (V-Nets, RBAC, Private Endpoints, IAM and Secrets Management.

Superior experience designing, implementing, and delivering infrastructure with containers and Kubernetes, AKS preferred.

Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform ARM template.

Ability to comprehend the impacts of adapting different architectures and design and be able to present to stakeholders.

Develop, deploy, and manage Azure PaaS and SaaS solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability, security, and performance.

Utilize Azure DevOps practices to automate and streamline the software development lifecycle, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).

Identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of services.

Must be able to obtain or have an Active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearances acceptable.

Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a Federal IT related industry.

Experience with enterprise cloud infrastructure platforms, AWS, Azure (preferred).

Experience with advanced automation pipelines (GitLab) and artifact management.

Azure Security certification(s).

Implement and manage Azure Arc to extend Azure management and services to any infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus.

Peraton is seeking a Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Herndon, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework to better support the services provided to CA’s customers.

As part of the modernization program, the Azure Cloud Engineer will provide support to the ongoing implementation of the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline that supports the program. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. Roles and Responsibilities:

Design and implement Azure‑based infrastructure solutions to support application modernization and migration efforts.

Manage technical requirements while deciding on technical solutions.

Experience in setting up landing zones on Azure cloud.

Experience in activities around automated deployment of their applications into AKS.

Experience in managing automation playbooks and documentation related to AKS.

Experience in pod autoscaling designs/strategies, CI-CD pipelines for building enterprise grade application build and deployment automation.

Experience in efficiently managing image streams and build artifacts.

Develop, deploy, and manage Azure PaaS and SaaS solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability, security, and performance.

Utilize Azure DevOps practices to automate and streamline the software development lifecycle, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).

Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability, scalability, and efficient resource utilization.

Identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of services.
