Overview Langston Views is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Apartment Unit Turn Technician to ensure that vacated apartment homes are swiftly and thoroughly prepared for new residents. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering clean, functional, and move‑in ready units that meet our community’s high standards. You will also assist with general maintenance tasks by completing work orders as needed.
About You
2+ years of experience in apartment maintenance, unit turns, or make‑ready services
In‑depth understanding of apartment turn processes and timelines
Proficient in:
Basic plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair
Drywall patching, painting, and finish work
Light carpentry, hardware replacement, and fixture installation
Deep cleaning and janitorial procedures
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
Able to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Clear and professional communication with team members and supervisors
Willingness to support weekend or emergency turnover needs, if required
Key Responsibilities
Apartment Unit Turns
Execute full make‑ready processes, including:
Removal of trash and abandoned items
General cleaning and sanitizing of kitchens, bathrooms, and flooring
Interior painting (walls, doors, trim)
Repair/replacement of flooring, blinds, cabinetry, and hardware
Inspection and repair of appliances, lighting, outlets, and plumbing
Ensuring HVAC, water heaters, and smoke detectors are operational
Conduct final walkthroughs to ensure units are move‑in ready
Work Order Completion
Respond to and complete maintenance work orders as requested
Troubleshoot and repair issues in occupied units and common areas
Minor Maintenance & Repairs
Complete light maintenance work discovered during turns or post‑move‑in
Replace filters, bulbs, and batteries as needed
Cleaning & Janitorial Duties
Perform detailed deep cleans of ovens, refrigerators, tubs, tiles, and baseboards
Spot‑treat or shampoo carpets when required
Ensure all surfaces are disinfected and odor‑free
Inventory Management
Monitor and document materials used per unit
Report low stock levels and maintain an organized work area
Team Collaboration
Communicate unit status with the maintenance supervisor and leasing team
Support teammates during high‑volume turnover periods
Attend safety and maintenance‑related training and meetings
Preferred Certifications
EPA Universal Certification (for HVAC troubleshooting)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
CPO (Certified Pool Operator), if the property includes pool amenities
