Responsibilities The MEP Project Manager will oversee all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities for one of our large-scale, fast-track data center projects, with a primary emphasis on critical electrical and mechanical systems that directly support uptime and reliability. This role is responsible for managing contractors, budgets, commissioning pathways, and internal/external stakeholder relationships to ensure safe execution, technical accuracy, schedule adherence, and seamless integration with base building and tenant systems.

We'll Trust You To:

Manage all MEP work from preconstruction through closeout, with emphasis on mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems.

Lead subcontractor procurement, scope development, bid leveling, and contract awards.

Maintain project schedules and oversee long-lead equipment (switchgear, UPS, generators, chillers, etc.).

Manage budgets, cost controls, invoices, and procurement for all MEP trades.

Evaluate and negotiate change orders; maintain accurate tracking and documentation.

Review construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals for accuracy and cross-discipline coordination.

Direct trade coordination, ensuring alignment with data center design criteria, redundancy strategies (N/N+1/N+2), and operational standards.

Coordinate closely with Engineering, Operations, IT, and Commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Conduct regular site walks to monitor safety, quality, sequence, and manpower.

Serve as primary liaison with AHJs, utilities, and inspectors for permitting and energization.

Drive QA/QC programs and ensure all MEP scopes comply with safety and environmental requirements.

Support commissioning activities, tracking readiness for energization, start-up, and testing/turnover milestones.

Manage punch lists, turnover packages, O&M documentation, and as-builts.

Lead coordination meetings and communicate progress, risks, and decisions proactively.

Qualifications

5 - 10 years of experience in mission-critical, data center, industrial, or large-scale MEP construction, with deep exposure to electrical and mechanical systems.

Strong technical knowledge of critical power (MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, grounding, controls), mechanical cooling systems (CRAH/CRAC, chillers, cooling towers, DX systems), plumbing, fire protection, low voltage, and BMS/EPMS systems.

Proven track record managing large-scale MEP scopes with aggressive schedules and high technical complexity.

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple contractors, consultants, and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills with a strong client-facing presence.

Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented, with the ability to problem-solve in time-sensitive and technical situations.
