Senior Landscape Architect – Technical Oversight

Hart Howerton is seeking an ambitious, talented, and self‑motivated Senior Landscape Architect – Technical Oversight for its San Francisco or New York office. This role offers growth, career advancement, and the opportunity to influence our work through design of next‑generation hospitality and mixed‑use developments across the US and internationally. Responsibilities

Lead and contribute senior expertise to landscape architecture projects for a wide variety of clients as part of interdisciplinary teams of architecture, landscape architecture, and planning. Maintain Hart Howerton’s approach of “designing complete environments,” responding to market, environmental, and client objectives. Provide technical expertise, oversight, and review for a range of projects from concept through construction documents and construction administration. Supervise production or produce documents that convey and interpret design intent, provide quality control on all projects, and conduct technical and design reviews when appropriate. Mentor and coach junior team members, develop their technical knowledge, and perform QA/QC reviews of detailed design sets. Oversee relationships with project consultants, assist in preparing fee and workload projections, and document projects and research for reference files. Experience & Qualifications

At least 12 years of experience in landscape architecture; 15+ years preferred. Minimum 2 years in a leadership/management role, with experience at a landscape architectural firm or division that offers a range of design services. Comprehensive knowledge of all stages of work: concept, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. Ability to maintain an appropriate average billable percentage and manage project budgets. Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture (MLA preferred); more than one degree or interdisciplinary exposure (e.g., architecture) is acceptable. License to practice Landscape Architecture in the U.S. Salary

$150,000–$225,000 Benefits
