Associate The
Associate
role at Palm Tree is a critical position responsible for supporting client engagements, managing workstreams, and delivering high‑quality financial and operational insights. The ideal candidate for this role should have between four and six years of relevant, practical work experience. Associates collaborate closely with senior team members and clients to address complex challenges, including due diligence, financial modeling, business transformation, and M&A processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise across multiple facets of M&A and private equity environments.
Responsibilities Client Engagement
Collaborate with senior team members to execute financial and operational engagements, including due diligence, value creation, and transaction support.
Build and refine financial models such as QOE, 13wkcf, AOPs, three‑statement models, working capital assessments, financial reporting packages, dashboards, etc.
Develop client deliverables, including reports, presentations, and dashboards, to support strategic decision‑making.
Analyze and synthesize data to provide actionable insights for clients.
Team Contributions
Manage and mentor junior team members, ensuring high‑quality work and professional growth.
Support internal training initiatives and share best practices across the firm.
Provide regular status updates to senior team members and maintain clear communication with clients.
Strategic and Operational Support
Assist in business development efforts, including proposal creation and client relationship management.
Contribute to firm‑building initiatives such as talent acquisition, process improvement, and thought leadership.
Qualifications
Education/Credentials: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a similar field is necessary; a CPA or CFA designation is preferred.
Experience:
4+ years of relevant professional experience in financial transaction advisory services, private equity, consulting, investment banking, restructuring, corporate/portco finance, or FP&A.
Proven ability to lead junior staff and produce quality client results.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with BI tools or data visualization platforms is a plus.
Strong analytical, technical, and project management skills.
Soft Skills:
Initiative‑taking, motivated, and self‑starter attitude.
Analytical and critical thinking abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
Thrives under pressure in fast‑paced settings.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Base salary of $100k‑$150k, with performance/metric‑driven bonuses.
