The Associate Director, Market Access Analytics, reporting to the Senior Director, Patient Services and Market Access Analytics, will lead the development of analytic strategy, reporting infrastructure, and insight generation to optimize payer access, pull‑through performance, and pricing and contracting decisions. This role is a critical partner to Market Access Strategy, National and Regional Accounts, Trade, Patient Services, and Field Reimbursement teams—delivering actionable, data‑driven insights that shape contracting strategies, access initiatives, and patient affordability programs.
The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in pharmaceutical market access analytics with strong technical capabilities, business acumen, and an ability to translate complex data into meaningful, strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and execution of analytics frameworks evaluating quality of access, formulary performance, and payer utilization across all segments
Analyze payer coverage policies, step edits, prior authorization requirements, and reimbursement trends to identify access opportunities and barriers
Monitor pull‑through effectiveness, quantifying access‑driven utilization across national and regional accounts
Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and executive‑level reporting to track payer performance, formulary wins/losses, and core access KPIs
Lead analytic preparation for Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBRs/QBRs), including performance summaries, coverage updates, and strategic recommendations
Partner with Market Access leadership to model and forecast the impact of access changes, formulary updates, contracting strategies, and share shifts
Provide insights to Payer Account, Trade, Patient Services, and Field Access teams that support access optimization and patient affordability initiatives
Serve as a subject matter expert on payer, formulary, coverage, and claims utilization data, including developing sound business rule logic, ensuring consistent data definitions, and conducting QC testing to validate accuracy and reliability
Conduct ad hoc analyses to diagnose access challenges, support contracting decisions, and respond to field inquiries
Manage relationships with data and consulting vendors, including scope alignment, deliverable oversight, and budget management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferred, in Business or related field required with 8‑10 years of progressive experience in Market Access, Payer Analytics, or Commercial Analytics or equivalent experience
Proven ability to analyze payer, formulary, and claims data to identify trends, measure performance, and drive access strategy
Working knowledge of IQVIA LAAD, MMIT, Payer Spine, Copay data and Access pull‑thru application
Expertise with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, Excel)
In‑depth understanding of payer contracting, coverage determination, medical and pharmacy policies
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance standards, including HIPAA and manufacturer data privacy regulations
Demonstrated success translating complex analytics into actionable business insights for senior stakeholders
Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills; ability to influence and align across cross‑functional teams
Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full‑time position is $187,000 – $229,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
