Job Title Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner (0.60 - 1.0 FTE) - Minneapolis Level 1 Trauma ED Triage (Nights)

Responsibilities

Working at triage as a provider doing medical screening exams (MSE) on patients and seeing and treating patients with less critical complaints who can be discharged from triage. Provider will also do MSE on patients and start workups on patients awaiting the team centers in the ED.

Perform physical examination and record history.

Write and route orders to appropriate laboratory and radiological studies.

Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as directed by the physician, including but not limited to:

Venipuncture

Starting intravenous lines

Suturing lacerations

Pelvic examinations and testing

Incision and drainage of abscesses

Immobilizing fractures and other musculoskeletal problems through the use of splinting and casting

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.

Current (or eligibility for) license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant issued by the State of Minnesota.

Family NP (FNP) certification required for NP candidates.

3 years of work in an emergency department as an advanced practice provider.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in Emergency Medicine of 5 years (at least 3 years as an Advanced Practice Provider).

Knowledge of electronic medical documentation system/software.

Salary

3-4 Years: Base Hourly Rate $68.21; +25% Stipend $85.26

5-6 Years: Base Hourly Rate $71.80; +25% Stipend $89.75

7-9 Years: Base Hourly Rate $73.24; +25% Stipend $91.55

10-14 Years: Base Hourly Rate $75.39; +25% Stipend $94.23

15+ Years: Base Hourly Rate $77.54; +25% Stipend $96.92

Stipend is specifically for working straight night shifts in the ED Triage role.

Primary Location MN-Minneapolis-Downtown Campus

Employment Details Standard Hours/FTE Status: FTE = 0.60 (48 hours per pay period).

Full benefit eligibility at 0.70 FTE. 0.60 FTE carries full benefits minus disability.

Clinical coverage will be nights 11 pm – 7 am in triage 7 days a week (scheduled days TBD). There will be an ability to pick up moonlighting shifts as desired (and as department needs).
