Fractional Development Director (Part-time, Hybrid)
Job Posting
Dec. 9, 2025
Opportunity:
Fractional Development Director Organization:
Camp Mowglis (www.Mowglis.org ) Location:
Remote / Hebron, New Hampshire
About Us: Camp Mowglis is a fully accredited, historic, residential nonprofit summer camp for boys located on Newfound Lake, NH, committed to providing profoundly influential summer camp experiences for boys ages 7 to 15. As a nonprofit, donations to Mowglis help fund camper scholarships and operational expenses, as well as a growing endowment, primarily to support the organization’s long-term sustainability and make our camp accessible and sustainable. Founded in 1903, we are nearing our 125th anniversary, a major upcoming milestone and opportunity for significant advancement.
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate, highly experienced Fractional Fundraiser to support all aspects of our annual fundraising program. This part-time, flexible role will focus on securing funding to cover operational costs, expand camper scholarship programs, and help grow our endowment—ensuring the continued success and accessibility of our camp. This role is critical for transforming our current $350,000 annual fundraising revenue base into a sustainable, growing platform to offset operational costs, mitigate tuition costs, maintain inclusive participation for families, and drive long-term endowment growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan aligned with camp goals, integrating a focus on the 125th Anniversary in 2028.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director/Camp Director to develop and execute effective strategies for all major giving initiatives, as well as targeted major and mid-level donor stewardship and solicitations.
In partnership with the Executive Director/Camp Director, identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with prospective donors, partners, and sponsors to foster connections that convert prospects into ongoing, long-term supporters.
Significantly deepen donor engagement strategies to increase the number of major donors, and implement specific retention strategies for recent new donors with capacity for ongoing and/or increased giving.
Plan and execute targeted annual fundraising efforts—including events, outreach, and digital solicitations—to drive maximum fundraising results.
Collaborate with camp leadership to create compelling fundraising materials and presentations of impact stories.
Track and report on fundraising progress, donor engagement, and campaign impact.
Provide guidance on donor stewardship and recognition strategies to support effective donor engagement and retention.
With an endowment close to $6MM, work with leadership (including Board of Trustees) to position the organization to build toward the next milestone of $10MM, including through our Planned Giving program.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related fields.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on a flexible schedule.
Passion for or commitment to the mission of summer camps and youth development.
Demonstrated ability to be a high-level strategic partner to an Executive Director.
Compensation:
Rate of pay is $40 to $85/hour
Part-time, flexible hours, with a focus on peak campaign periods.
NOTE: This is a hybrid role. Depending on the Fundraiser’s geographic location and on-site time (primarily at camp or donor meetings on the East Coast of the US), on-site time will be strategically scheduled.
Application: Interested candidates should send a resume and a brief cover letter outlining their relevant experience and interest in the role to Nickrobbins@mowglis.org. All submissions will be kept confidential.
