SVP - Market Specialist, Life & Annuity Recruitment at Selby Jennings Key Responsibilities:
Lead preparation for initial GAAP audit, including workpapers, reconciliations, and documentation.
Develop processes and controls for annual GAAP audit cycles.
Prepare GAAP and statutory journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
Maintain GAAP-to-STAT differences and support regulatory filings.
Design and implement internal controls aligned with MAR/SOX standards.
Collaborate across actuarial, investments, treasury, and operations teams.
Provide support for budgeting, expense tracking, investment accounting, and reinsurance reporting.
Contribute to risk assessment processes (ORSA) and internal audit projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred but not required.
4-6 years of experience in insurance accounting or audit (life & annuity preferred).
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting.
Audit engagement experience (GAAP or STAT).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
