The Product Owner II is responsible for leading a product or set of product features through road mapping, design, and development phases of the product lifecycle. This role manages the product line internally day‑to‑day, using agile methodologies to define release product needs and features in alignment with product strategy. They work closely with product stakeholders to develop specifications for consumption by development teams and clearly communicate the product vision, roadmap, and customer value.

Location preference: This position is hybrid and requires in‑person attendance at one of our Corporate Offices in either Mendota Heights, MN or Loveland, CO. Candidates should be located within 50 miles of one of these sites.

Essential Functions

Partner cross‑functionally to draft, manage, and maintain a detailed roadmap based upon product and release strategy.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to prioritize product backlog, provide input on timing and readiness for planned production releases, create and facilitate feature requirements, user stories, and user interface design changes; work with technical teams to ensure readiness for development.

Approve sprint deliverables, balance feedback, and ensure solutions meet product requirements and enable overall product health.

Coordinate and assist with beta process and resolution of product issues across stakeholders and development team.

Identify and manage risks at the release and iteration level in partnership with team managers.

Assist with quality related tasks and complete required quality training for products under the scope of regulatory quality management.

Ensure that training content is created and delivered for new product functionality; provide customer production issue escalation assistance and oversight to ensure resolution.

Participate in, and may lead, daily stand‑ups, refinement, story review, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Stay current with industry trends, platform roadmaps, technological advancements, and best practices in product ownership and product management.

Comply with company and department policies and standards; perform other duties as assigned.

Corporate Responsibilities

Partner with the Product Manager to draft and manage the roadmap based on business and release strategies.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide domain expertise to assist with user experience planning.

Participate in (and in some cases lead) customer and vendor meetings.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area (or equivalent education and/or experience).

2 years of experience in an IT process/product design, project/product planning, or related technology.

Experience with Agile methodologies or Scrum framework.

Preferred Requirements

3 years experience with SAP requirements gathering, design, development or configuration, and implementation.

SAP certification.

Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar agile certification.

Skills and Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication; ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels in the organization.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; critical thinking and a data‑driven approach to decision‑making.

Strong organizational, attention to detail, and follow‑up skills; ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast‑paced changing environment.

Knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps or similar SDLC management tools.

Knowledge of animal health and dental industries helpful. Knowledge of distribution and service of equipment, software, merchandise and/or pharmaceuticals helpful.

Understanding of SAP modules (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP EWM, etc.) and applications in business processes.

Understanding of SAP ecosphere, including best practices and SAP solution roadmaps.

Compensation Range $85,000 - $110,000 per year
