Job Summary Under the direction of the Head of School, oversees the strategic planning and execution of the School’s recruitment, admission, tuition assistance, and retention efforts. Responsible for achieving full enrollment and meeting net tuition revenue targets, the Director of Enrollment Management leads the School’s JK‑12 Admission Department and serves on the School’s Senior Leadership Team.

Essential Functions

Work with the Admission Team to plan, coordinate, and implement admission initiatives; manage outreach activities, visiting feeder schools, attending events and fairs, and hosting campus events.

Coordinate the admissions process in partnership with divisional Associate Directors; follow up with prospective families, interview families, oversee admission testing, arrange visits and tours, communicate admission decisions, and support onboarding.

Serve on all admission committees across the School; support divisional ADs in preparation for and leadership of committee meetings; make final decisions with careful consideration.

Develop enrollment and net tuition revenue projections and goals in partnership with CF&OO.

Act as a key member of the tuition assistance committee; assist in developing strategy, policy, budgets, and reviewing files to make recommendations on applications.

Work directly with the Marketing and Communication Office on strategic marketing planning and execution.

Align admission efforts with institutional priorities and mission by collaborating with Alumni & Development, Athletics, Student Support, Academic Departments, and other departments.

Build strong relationships with Division Heads, faculty, Student Support Services, and other key internal stakeholders on admission information, planning, and execution.

Be an active, visible, engaged member of the school community; support onboarding of new students and attend faculty meetings, observe and partner with faculty in classrooms to remain connected to the program.

Participate in School and Independent Schools of St. Louis committee work, supporting school initiatives at MICDS and the larger St. Louis community.

Compile, research, and report admission data and demographic statistics using the internal admission database system and other external resources.

Recruit, train, and supervise parent, student, and faculty volunteers for campus tours, admission events, and admission testing.

Effectively utilize Veracross for prospective family relationship management, organization of online applications and electronic files; create customized reports using the database system.

Support other members of the Admission Team as needed with recruitment and admission efforts across the school.

Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the School’s discretion.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

A passion and understanding for independent schools, with a minimum of seven years of experience in admission or enrollment management preferred.

Proven success in a prior administrative leadership role, with ability to create high-functioning teams and a welcoming atmosphere within the department.

Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community with demonstrated skill in working with families, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and needs.

Ability to manage, lead, and work collaboratively with the admission team and other key stakeholders in the school community.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and managerial skills.

Strategic thinker and creative problem solver with the ability to see the big picture while maintaining close attention to details.

Understands current enrollment, admission, and marketing trends and best practices and has the vision to develop and implement new strategies and practices.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders including administrators, faculty, board members, and parents.

Ability to thrive in a highly competitive market environment through creative and innovative strategies.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, establish priorities, meet tight deadlines, and address an ever‑changing admissions landscape.

Highest level of ethical standards and integrity; ability to handle sensitive and strictly confidential information.

Strong proficiency with learning a variety of technology applications: CRM, data‑analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and email.

Knowledge and/or experience with marketing and sales principles.

Embodies the School’s Mission and will be a positive role model and ambassador.

Must enjoy working with children and parents of children.

Ability to work additional hours when needed, including some evenings and weekends.
