You will be an essential contributor to the development of next‑generation innovations in operating systems, firmware, networking stacks, and security infrastructure.

Your work develops and maintains critical software and tools that ensure hardware compatibility, network performance, and security for Cisco’s core products such as operating systems, firmware, and networking stacks.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for Cisco’s core product families.
Implement and validate networking protocols and stack components on embedded Linux platforms.
Collaborate with hardware teams on integration and testing of new silicon and PCB designs.
Use automation and scripting (Python, Bash) to support CI/CD pipelines and test harnesses.
Apply DevSecOps practices to embed security into the software lifecycle.
Document design decisions, performance metrics, and integration procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Completed or being completed within the last three years a certification or degree program (e.g., Associate’s, Boot Camp, or relevant specialization) with three years of experience, a High School Diploma with four years experience, a Bachelor’s with two years experience, or a Master’s with no experience.
Proficiency in C programming and experience with embedded Linux and operating system fundamentals.
Familiarity with networking principles, routing protocols, and general networking concepts.
Hands‑on experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python or Bash, and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Understanding of DevSecOps practices and their application in software development workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
Conceptual understanding or hands‑on experience with AI/ML.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and security protocols.
Experience with FPGA development.
Knowledge of signal and power integrity, and PCB design.

New York City Metro Area: $123,600.00 – $200,100.00
Non‑Metro New York State & Washington State: $109,900.00 – $181,600.00
