Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Direct Hire

Salary Range:
$93,873 – $120,685.50

Position Summary The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing high-quality laboratory testing using both manual and automated methods while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic laboratory procedures.
Maintain accurate records for all testing and proficiency samples.
Document and manage all quality assurance activities, including quality control, calibrations, equipment verification, and maintenance.
Troubleshoot and report issues affecting test performance, document corrective actions.
Ensure accuracy and quality of results and meet STAT turnaround time requirements.
Communicate all critical values to clinicians and patient care units.
Participate in regulatory readiness for CAP, AABB, NYSDOH, and Joint Commission.
Maintain 12 Continuing Education credits annually.
Participate in SOP reviews, proficiency testing, audits, and quality improvement programs.
Review and validate test results according to department protocol.
Assist with training, competency assessments, and test validations.
Manage inventory of lot numbers, expiration dates, labeling, and QC requirements.
Complete all required annual training and ongoing education.
Perform other laboratory duties as assigned.

Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis
Microbiology:
Bacteriology, Parasitology, Virology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, Susceptibility Testing, Molecular
Anatomic Pathology:
Histology, special stains, immunohistochemistry
Education & Requirements
Current New York State License
as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (required).
Education in compliance with
NYS Office of Professions
and
CLIA
standards.
ASCP Certification
preferred.
