Job Description
Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Reservoir Data Analyst reporting to the Vice President, Engineering. The ideal candidate will leverage data management, analytics, and domain expertise to drive asset performance, enhance workflow efficiency, and support key strategic engineering decisions across the organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimized reservoir operations and contribute to the continued success of the company’s assets in the Permian Basin.
General Responsibilities
Retrieve, clean, and analyze reservoir, production, and well data from multiple sources – internal, non-op, and third-party data.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualization tools to support reservoir engineering workflows (Spotfire, Power BI, etc.).
Build custom datasets and automated data pipelines to streamline recurring technical and business processes – ComboCurve, Whitson+, non-op data, etc.
Partner with reservoir engineers and technical staff from other departments to identify data needs and convert them into actionable analytics.
Gather requirements for new dashboards or tool enhancements and deliver user-ready solutions – focused on reservoir engineering asset team support.
Streamline inventory management (operated and non-op) by creating new dashboards, analytical tools and improving data pipelines.
Identify data quality issues and troubleshoot discrepancies across databases, systems, and models.
Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and structure data for engineering analysis.
Develop automation solutions to reduce manual tasks and improve workflow efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of oil and gas industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on data analytics and reservoir engineering support.
Strong analytical and data management skills, with the ability to interpret real-time and historical datasets to inform decisions.
Strong field exposure in the Permian Basin is highly preferred.
Strong technical expertise in data management, analytics, and automation tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally to address technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
