Position Overview The

Lead Configuration Management (CM) Specialist

is responsible for overseeing and executing end-to-end CM processes for complex cybersecurity systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and traceability across all software, hardware, and documentation baselines. This role establishes and maintains configuration controls, manages baseline changes, and coordinates with cross‑functional engineering, security, and program teams to ensure all system components remain compliant with organizational standards, cybersecurity requirements, and lifecycle management best practices.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) practices in alignment with CMMI Level 3 standards and the program's Systems Engineering Plan (SEP).

Manage version control activities, including check‑in/check‑out workflows, baseline creation, and control of configuration items throughout the system lifecycle.

Oversee software branching, merging, build, integration, testing, and release processes to ensure consistency, traceability, and quality across all deliverables.

Utilize CM tools such as Git, IBM DOORS, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, Project) to track, document, and manage configuration data.

Maintain and update ship‑specific configuration baselines for cybersecurity system installations, ensuring accurate records for each platform and deployment instance.

Coordinate with engineering, cybersecurity, and project teams to ensure CM requirements are understood, implemented, and adhered to across all work products.

Generate and maintain CM documentation, including configuration status accounting reports, baseline records, and change history logs.

Support CM audits, reviews, and evaluations to verify configuration integrity and compliance with program and organizational standards.

Required Skills And Experience

High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma, or GED equivalent.

Ten (10) years professional experience in configuration management.

CM planning/execution, version control, CM audits and reporting.

Adherence to Navy cybersecurity policies, RMF processes, quality standards, onsite/remote support protocols, and completion of required trainings.

Complete Government‑mandated security training (e.g., OPSEC, CUI handling, Cybersecurity 101) to maintain site and network access.

CSWF: IAT Level II

CompTIA Security+ (with CE)

GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)

Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Ability to work effectively remotely in cross‑functional teams.

Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

Clearance Requirements U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Work Location United States - Remote. Our company prioritizes the flexibility and collaboration of remote work. If the position is remote or hybrid, you may periodically work from a Pantheon Data office location or client site. When assigned to an office location or client site you will collaborate with colleagues and clients in person as needed for specific client requirements.

Compensation The salary range for this position is up to $60,335. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
