About This Role As a Lead Field Controls Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each customer. The role requires a self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, customer‑focused engineer who acts as a role model for other field engineers. Responsibilities include solving complex problems, training less experienced field engineers, and serving as a product and technical expert on site.

This position is onsite at client sites within an 80‑mile radius around Reno, Nevada.

Key Responsibilities

Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control technology.

Serve as the local contact for technical issues.

Offer effective solutions for complex system issues.

Provide turnkey project delivery on medium to large projects.

Ensure that systems operate properly, including controls, sensors, and software.

Load software and configure trends, alarms, and reports.

Implement time‑management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.

Communicate and document project status and details for the customer.

Provide site‑specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

4+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a technical field.

Capability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and lift items up to 50 lbs.

Valid and current driver’s license; insurable by the company’s insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or technical/business school certificate/diploma in HVAC, controls, or a related field.

Proficient with advanced building automation software such as WebCTRL and installation of building automation controls.

Ability to navigate and integrate into a variety of building automation systems.

Expertise with TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.

Experience interacting with a large and diverse set of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.

Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical audiences.

Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.

Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

This position may be entitled to short‑term cash incentives subject to plan requirements. Pay range is $79,500.00 – $111,500.00. Factors affecting pay include skills, education, experience and other unique qualifications.
