You will work on roadway design projects, incorporating multimodal facilities, traffic calming treatments, urban street designs, accessibility improvements, transit network upgrades, drainage designs, public and private utility coordination, and green infrastructure elements. Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise from conceptual and preliminary design through final design. Extend technical expertise into construction phase services beyond final design. Coordinate with architects, bridges, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals to complete multi‑disciplinary deliverables. Assist project managers with roadway design, utility infrastructure coordination, construction documents development, and construction support services. Prepare detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages. Work with Project Managers to ensure production of specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements. Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. 5+ years' experience in designing and preparing construction contract documents for roadway projects. Professional Engineering (PE) license, or the ability and motivation to obtain one. Experience developing roadway designs in accordance with MassDOT, NHDOT or MaineDOT guidelines and standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation – InRoads/OpenRoads, AutoTURN. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with 3D roadway models, horizontal alignments, profiles, corridors, cross‑sections, grading, sidewalk/curb ramps, ADA design, construction phasing, quantity takeoffs, and estimates.
