Dealership Accountant II

Dealership: BMW of San Francisco, located at L0605 Southwest Finance Center, 1675 Howard St., San Francisco, CA 94103.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm (flexible). Pay: $23.00 – $34.00 per hour, DOE.
Position Overview Dealership Accountant II is a mid‑level accounting role focused on accurate, timely registration of dealership transactions. The role involves transactional posting of dealership activities, and provides a pathway to accounting management or business management within the automotive sector.
Responsibilities
Audit all car deals for Lithia and CA compliance
Request and process lien payoffs
Process cash receipts
Process loaner car retirements, flooring payoffs and stock ins
Process loaner car stock ins and flooring requests
Account for manufacturer monies (parts, warranty, incentives, miscellaneous)
Post to intercompany accounts
Post new & used car deals
Record wholesale vehicle sales & purchases, lease buyouts
Process refunds checks, customer referrals checks and broker checks
Perform RDR and rebate reconciliation
Finance reserve reconciliation
Schedule reviews and maintenance (SAR understanding, SPARK Notes)
Process journal vouchers
Understand all product payable lines and reconcile statements
Understanding of accounts receivable
Balance intercompany transactions (AR/AP)
Perform month‑end close duties and month‑end checklist
Conduct month‑end duties (balance sheet and MIS review)
Coordinate payroll processing with corporate payroll partners
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bookkeeping certification, associate’s degree in accounting, or two‑year comparable experience (preferred)
Auto industry experience (required)
Retail sales and/or customer service experience (preferred)
Experience with CDK software is a plus
Basic accounting knowledge – familiarity with COA, debits and credits
Ability to review, research, and resolve variances quickly
Entry‑to‑mid level office and computer skills
