This role is responsible for directing all accounting operations, including financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial management and leadership, with a strong understanding of retail or apparel industry dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the full spectrum of accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in alignment with applicable regulations and standards.

Lead the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual financial statements, maintaining compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory bodies.

Manage the closing cycles (monthly and annually), ensuring precision, completeness, and timeliness in reporting and disclosures.

Establish, document, and enhance accounting methodologies, internal controls, and policies to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Partner with internal departments such as Finance, Legal, and Operations to evaluate accounting implications, resolve technical issues, and support strategic projects.

Provide financial leadership and insights to guide key business decisions, investment strategies, and operational improvements. Play a key role in budget oversight and cost control initiatives.

Maintain productive relationships with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment with tax and financial reporting obligations.

Monitor emerging accounting standards and regulatory changes, evaluating their potential impact on financial statements and disclosures.

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing accounting team, promoting professional development and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Perform other duties and projects as needed in support of organizational goals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; Master’s degree and/or CPA certification preferred.

At least 15 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally within the retail or consumer goods sector.

Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting frameworks and regulations, including GAAP, SOX, and PCAOB standards.

Prior experience working with multiple brands and distribution models is advantageous.

Exposure to private equity environments is highly desirable.

Familiarity with business intelligence platforms (e.g., DOMO, Power BI, Tableau) preferred.

Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and communicate across all organizational levels.

Strategic mindset with a strong foundation in financial planning, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.

Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements within financial operations.

Skilled at balancing big-picture strategic thinking with attention to detail and accuracy.

Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities.

Proven success as a business partner to executive leadership, particularly the CFO.
