Territory Sales Manager
Position requires heavy travel (75%+). Territory covers CA, WA, MT, ID, NV, OR, AK, HI.
The role of the Territory Sales Manager is to effectively manage a designated territory and support a sales team in growing sales revenue while professionally representing Cornerstone Building Brands surface solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop and grow established accounts.
Service existing accounts, obtain sales orders and establish new accounts.
Study existing and potential volume by market segment.
Utilize proper and complete sales resource utilization to assist in securing new business.
Use a structured call frequency system to plan and organize daily work schedule in pursuit of existing and potential territory sale opportunities.
Conduct and/or participate in sales promotion and customer educational meetings.
Provide lead generation and follow‑through.
Recommend changes in pricing and adjust pricing within established guidelines.
Evaluate results and competitive developments.
Resolve customer complaints, investigate problems, develop solutions, and make recommendations to management.
Submit annual sales forecast.
Conduct competitive analysis and gather current marketplace information on competitor pricing, product, new products, service levels, and merchandising techniques.
Customize sales presentations and employ proper techniques in preparing an opening, presenting, overcoming objections, and concluding a presentation.
Provide sales administration and maintain historical records.
Submit weekly sales reports or as required.
Handle forms and other lines of communication.
Develop and maintain customer profile and territory and account sales records.
May be required to perform AIA (American Institute of Architects) presentations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3 years of proven direct sales experience, preferably in the building products industry.
In-depth knowledge of the building products industry and sales management experience in dealer, distribution, and/or two‑step channel.
Problem‑solving and sales negotiation skills a must.
General knowledge of major competitive brands.
Strong communication skills.
Experience with sales planning, budgeting, and T&E expense management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
Solid time‑management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential.
Strong personal motivation.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
