Job Summary We have an immediate need for a Public Affairs Coordinator to join our Washington, DC office and support the growing Public Affairs and Strategic Communications practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic communications plans for clients, including media outreach and messaging.
Draft press releases, talking points, op‑eds, and other written materials for client initiatives.
Monitor media coverage and provide timely updates and analysis to clients and internal teams.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and key stakeholders.
Assist in crisis communications and rapid response efforts as needed.
Support client meetings, briefings, and events, including preparation of materials and follow‑up.
Collaborate with attorneys, policy professionals, and other team members to integrate communications strategies with legislative and regulatory objectives.
Conduct research on policy issues, media trends, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
2‑4 years of experience as a press aide or in a communications role within the U.S. House, Senate, or Administration (required).
Experience working with or for private sector clients in public affairs or strategic communications (preferred).
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive messaging.
Familiarity with media relations and political communications strategies.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Existing relationships with national and trade media outlets (a plus).
Knowledge of digital and social media strategies for public affairs campaigns.
Compensation and Benefits Salary ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, profit sharing and vacation/sick/personal time off.
