Position Overview The Sr. Project Manager for Separation/Filtration Pigging Services is an office-based position responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing pipeline pigging projects. The projects include online pigging/ILI support with and without separation or filtration, as well as offline mechanical and chemical cleaning operations. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost‑effective project execution while providing technical expertise, accurate cost tracking, timely reporting, and strong communication with both internal and external stakeholders. The Sr. Project Manager will also support the estimating team by preparing technical inputs, validating scopes, and performing complete estimates for customers. A primary requirement for the Sr. Project Manager role is great stakeholder management skills and unwavering customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
Lead and manage end-to-end pipeline pigging projects, including online pigging, separation/filtration, flaring, and offline cleaning activities.
Develop and execute project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
Coordinate equipment, personnel, subcontractors, and materials to ensure safe and timely project delivery.
Monitor project progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and client requirements.
Technical Expertise
Provide technical assistance on pigging operations, separation and filtration systems, mechanical and chemical cleaning methodologies, hydrostatic testing, and flaring.
Review and approve pigging procedures, separation plans, filtration schematics, and cleaning methodologies.
Consult with field teams to resolve technical issues and optimize operational performance.
Financial Management & Reporting
Track project costs, consumption, equipment usage, and labor hours.
Prepare and submit accruals, cost forecasts, and variance reports.
Build accurate project budgets and estimates that align with scope, risks, and resource requirements.
Identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements.
Estimating & Business Support
Provide technical support to the estimating team when developing proposals and bids.
Assist with scope reviews, site assessments, risk identification, and cost modeling.
Contribute to the creation of technical write‑ups, execution plans, and schedule estimates.
Participate in client meetings, bid reviews, and pre‑construction planning sessions.
Generate complete proposals for clients with minimal oversight.
Safety & Compliance
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all activities follow company and regulatory safety standards.
Review and understand client specific operator qualifications/courses, hazard assessments, and safety documentation.
Ensure environmental compliance, including proper waste handling and fluid management during separation/filtration operations is communicated and executed by field management.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution.
Provide regular project updates, technical explanations, and detailed reporting.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
5+ years of experience in pipeline pigging, mechanical/chemical cleaning, filtration/separation systems, hydrostatic testing, and flaring.
Proven experience managing and estimating pipeline integrity projects.
Strong understanding of pigging tools, separation/filtration equipment, hydrostatic testing, chemical cleaning, and flaring.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and pipeline schematics.
Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, cost tracking, accruals, and resource coordination.
Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, and client‑facing skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project), NetSuite (or other ERPs), and relevant industry tools.
Must be able to pass pre‑employment drug screens and background checks.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to travel to project sites up to 35% as required.
Ability to work in field environments including industrial, remote, and confined‑space locations (with proper training).
Ability to work extended hours along with nights and weekends during critical project windows.
