We are looking for a fun, high performance, enthusiastic, motivated and interesting human to join our growing team. Wine sales experience is a must, as is having at least 2 years of experience working for a luxury wine brand in recent history.
Auteur is a vintner-owned winery specializing in premium Pinot and Chardonnay. We are looking for enthusiastic & dynamic wine professionals to join our team. Essential Wine Hospitality Responsibilities:
Welcome and host guests for reserve tasting experiences, ensuring a positive and professional representation of our brand and story in an authentic and engaging narrative.
Develop long-term client relations that lead to on-premise sales and wine club memberships.
Creative communications skills with focus on the guests experience and high level of wine service.
Maintain a welcoming guest experience in our new hospitality space, including opening preparations and outdoor seating arrangements.
Schedule appointments on a shared team calendar and actively assist with incoming communications through phone, email, and reservation systems.
Accurately enter orders into our POS system (experience with Commerce 7, Tock, and Wineshipping are a plus) and follow the sales cycle through fulfillment and delivery, maintaining effective communication with clients before and after appointments.
Prepare tasting experiences by generating menus, setting up wines and stemware, and collaborating with team members to ensure a welcoming environment.
Assist management with winery projects, community outreach, and participate in offsite tastings and events as needed.
Polish stemware, stock inventory and keep eye on property maintenance, working with bussing staff on weekends and high season.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must be 21 years of age.
2+ years experience in premium wine hospitality, wine production or high-end restaurant service preferred.
Strong knowledge and passion for wine.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Self-driven with the ability to work effectively both as a team and self-started to work independently to drive visitorship.
Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to read your audience and tailor experiences to fit client expectations.
Professional appearance with an enthusiastic personality.
Must be food handlers/ABC certified.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and be comfortable standing and moving for extended periods in variable temperatures. 50% work can be outdoor service.
Proficient in computer systems; experience with Tock, C7, WineShipping and is a plus.
Ability to multitask in a high volume, fast-paced environment without compromising exceptional customer service.
Flexible availability to work varied schedules, including weekends and some holidays.
Compensation and Benefits: Committed to offering livable wages above industry standards, including hourly wages, plus sales commissions and gratuities. Wine Club commission range: $40-$60 per sign-up.
Schedule: Monday-Weds, with a potential ‘Flex-day’ of either Sunday and/or Thursday.
