Senior Data Engineer – Ledgent Technology
Base pay: $120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr
Location: Downtown San Diego – must sit onsite 5x days a week.

Practical experience using dbt in a production environment is required. Candidates lacking dbt experience must have extensive experience with Google Cloud and BigQuery. Candidates with no dbt and no GCP will not be considered.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years specifically in ecommerce analytics/data engineering focusing on inventory and financial data.
eCommerce Data Expertise : Proven experience with marketplace data, inventory management systems, ERP integrations, and financial reporting platforms. Deep understanding of ecommerce KPIs, unit economics, and inventory metrics. Strong background in creating client‑facing dashboards and executive reporting.
Financial Analytics Background : Strong experience with COGS tracking, margin optimization, advertising spend analysis, and financial reconciliation. Familiarity with accounting principles and financial statement analysis. Ability to translate financial data into clear visualizations and actionable reports.
Inventory Management Systems : Hands‑on experience with inventory planning software, demand forecasting tools, warehouse management systems (WMS), and supply chain analytics. Understanding of inventory accounting methods and valuation. Experience building automated inventory reports and performance dashboards.
Visualization & Reporting Expertise : Proficiency in Tableau, Power‑BI, Looker, or similar, creating dashboards, automated reports, and executive presentations that drive decisions.
Technical Mastery : Expert in SQL and Python (or similar) for building scalable, efficient data solutions for ecommerce and financial pipelines.
dbt + BigQuery Expertise : Proven experience using dbt for transformations and deploying solutions on Google BigQuery or similar cloud platforms.
Data Engineering Skills : Strong knowledge of data modeling, warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT pipelines, ecommerce data schemas, marketplace APIs, and financial data integration.
