Summary Pebble is looking for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to develop and implement robust quality systems and inspection tools to ensure high production standards. Responsibilities include designing measurement technologies, establishing quality inspection strategies, and setting manufacturing methods to meet cosmetic and dimensional specifications. The role requires data analysis to define process and part limits, collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, and Production teams to ensure design and inspection guidelines are aligned.
Responsibilities
Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve quality specifications at production scale
Develop and implement quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part specifications to improve first pass yields
Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications
Collaborate with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and appropriate assurance techniques are used
Lead efforts with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to ensure design drawings, manufacturing instructions, inspection instructions, tooling are consistent and complete
Develop qualitative metrics and reports that inform internal teams of trends, patterns, or concerns. Submit weekly and monthly reports
Attend quality team meetings and report on trends; suggest solutions where possible
Lead problem‑solving teams; use QA methodologies to manage and facilitate issue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions
Establish and maintain control plans to assure critical features are controlled through the assembly/production processes
Lead/facilitate review and disposition of discrepant materials identified for control of nonconforming product
Develop Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In‑Process Quality Control (IPQC), and outgoing Quality Control (OQC) requirements and set metrics for analyzing performance
Host MRB (Material Review Board) meetings with key stakeholders to determine the disposition of on‑hand units in quarantine
Experience
3+ years experience in manufacturing quality engineering within the automotive industry
Experience in GD&T and quality systems in a manufacturing environment
Experience in successfully applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability and statistical analysis, DoE, etc.
Thorough knowledge of QMS and quality control fundamentals
Ability to drive Material Review Board meetings and Non‑Conforming Material Reports and execute Supplier Corrective Action Requests and Corrective & Preventative Actions to completion
Strong planning, organizational, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, decision‑making, oral and written communication skills
Experience working in a start‑up environment and setting up quality engineering processes from scratch
BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline)
Salary Base pay range: $108,000 – $162,000 per year
