MRI Technologist – Full-Time – Nemours Children’s Health

Job Overview:
Nemours Children’s Hospital, located in Orlando, is a 130‑bed pediatric facility offering a 24‑hour Emergency Department and a range of outpatient specialty clinics. The MRI Technologist will perform MRI studies while ensuring a high‑quality, patient‑friendly experience in a fast‑paced pediatric environment.
Responsibilities
Perform magnetic resonance imaging studies and provide total patient care in a comfortable, friendly environment.
Maintain continuous communication with patients, families, and medical personnel.
Participate in departmental and hospital quality assessment and improvement programs.
Work knowledgeably with MRI scanners and associated workstations.
Execute routine MRI protocols and perform patient examinations as directed by a radiologist.
Prepare patients for exams, explaining procedures and answering questions.
Screen patients for contraindications and obtain written consent for contrast media.
Administer IV contrast and monitor for allergic reactions.
Maintain accurate patient data entry and order completion using hospital computer systems.
Determine appropriate scanning parameters and sequences based on radiologist protocols.
Ensure proper equipment function through routine maintenance and safe operation.
Demonstrate age‑appropriate care for infants, children, and adults as required.
Train new personnel, students, and physicians; foster teamwork and communications.
Maintain regular attendance and effective communication across all departments.
Requirements
Associate’s degree required.
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of MRI experience required.
MRI certification (ARRT or ARMRIT) upon hire.
American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire and ongoing maintenance.
Certified MRI Safety Officer (MRSO) preferred.
