Paralegal Assistant – Real Estate (Hybrid) – Holland & Knight LLP
This position is based in our Boston office. The Paralegal Assistant position is intended to be a two-year commitment for a recent college graduate looking to start a career in the legal profession. We anticipate this role starting in Summer 2026 and on‑site interviews will be scheduled in January.
A successful candidate will assist lawyers and/or paralegals in a broad range of real estate transaction types, including document organization, electronic filing, assembly of documents, and preparation of form documents for attorney review. The role involves maintaining files, organizing and retrieving documents systematically, performing work under direct supervision, and providing occasional client contact while referring more complex issues to higher‑level staff. In some practice areas, an annual billable requirement of 650 hours may apply. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues both in person and virtually.
Key Responsibilities
Gather and track documents and information from a variety of sources, including electronic data rooms for due diligence review by attorneys and paralegals.
Prepare final sets of documents for execution (once approved by attorney) for distribution to relevant parties.
Compile documents for delivery in accordance with client needs. This may include pulling and posting documents to electronic platforms in accordance with client and firm policies.
May be responsible for ordering UCC filings/renewals/lien searches as directed.
Maintain status report of open issues, deal contacts and due diligence checklists as directed by attorneys and paralegals.
Perform physical and electronic filing, indexing and active file maintenance.
Work with lawyers and non‑legal professionals to understand and implement rapid developments in technology to meet client needs.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred experience with database and supporting a legal practice group.
Accurate computer typing skills.
Written communication skills.
Ability to lift heavy boxes weighing 35 pounds.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent combination in education and experience.
Base Salary
range for this position is $27.80 – $41.80/hour. Compensation will depend on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include bonus opportunities and an exceptional benefits package.
