Our client is a high‑tech manufacturing company in electro‑optical technologies used in the detection and amplification of ions, electrons, and photons. Their products include photo‑detection and low‑light‑conditions imaging solutions for extremely demanding environments such as Defense & Security, Nuclear Safety, Life Science and Industrial & Non‑Destructive testing. They have production and R&D sites in Europe and North America.

The Division Controller has primary responsibility for all accounting, finance, treasury, cost accounting, and budgeting functions and will report to the General Manager of the business unit.

This role is based in Worcester County, Massachusetts. The controller will eventually be required to be on‑site at the plant 4‑5 days a week after August 2026. The role is remote prior to that date. There may be occasional US and international travel.

What You’ll Do

Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance, Accounting, and HR administration functions of the Company.

Manage the accuracy and productivity of day‑to‑day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoice/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general accounting, cost accounting, etc.

Develop, improve and issue timely monthly/quarterly financial records for the Executive Team, parent company, and the Board of Directors.

Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws, and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes in accordance with corporate accounting policies, requirements, and deadlines.

Provide timely and accurate analysis of financial trends and budgets to the CEO & HQ.

Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

Interface with outside audit firm(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, payroll service providers, and 401(k) trustee.

Coordinate the annual and quarterly audit processes with outside auditors.

Coordinate the annual income tax filing process with the outside tax preparation firm.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local sales and payroll tax laws and requirements.

Coordinate renewals on all company insurance policies, including workers’ compensation, property and casualty, liability, automobile and employee benefit policies.

Travel to US and international sites as required.

Effectively communicate and coordinate the exchange of financial information (e.g., plans, actual results, and outlook) to key stakeholders.

What You Have

3‑5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong motivation for professional growth.

BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance‑related field required; CPA and MBA are not required, but would be a plus.

Working knowledge of US and state tax law.

Working knowledge of US Federal government contracts and procurement regulations.

Working knowledge of IFRS is a plus.

A prior career history of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience.

Experience working with information technology and ERP systems required.

Ability to work in an international environment and to coordinate multicultural teams.
