Hourly Assistant Store Manager in Training
Pay: $21.90 – $22.90 an hour.
The Assistant Manager in Training (AIT) program equips you for the role of Assistant Manager. You’ll gain practical experience in all areas of store operations, including driving sales and profitability, coaching and developing your team, managing expenses, reducing losses, and overseeing merchandising and inventory control. In addition to competitive pay, Assistant Managers enjoy perks such as $0.20 off per gallon of fuel and 15% off most merchandise.

Duties / Responsibilities
Provide exceptional service by greeting and thanking all customers
Follow, interpret and enforce company policy and procedures with employees
Suggest possible purchases to the customer and promote store specials
Ensure proper sanitation and food handling/prep/storage/disposal procedures are followed
Maintain cleanliness of interior/exterior of building, including islands and pumps
Minimize out of stock by restocking shelving, displays and coolers as needed
Clean fast‑food area, equipment and stock as needed
Maintain safety/security awareness; report accidents or incidents to the manager immediately
Assist in training new employees
Manage food service and beverage programs to maximize sales and minimize loss
Report to work promptly, neatly groomed and in uniform
Make safe drops per company policies
Prepare and make daily deposits on weekends and when covering for the manager
Assist in preparing weekly orders for products from suppliers
Help fuel customer cars, check engine fluids and wash windows as required in Oregon (and other areas for handicapped customers)
Respond to emergencies when the Store Manager is unavailable
Operate register and other store equipment as needed
Prepare cashier checkout and report accurately and according to policy
Additional duties as assigned
Skills / Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Flexible availability for 24/7 operation (nights, weekends, holidays)
Previous leadership experience with a proven track record supervising team members in a food service or retail environment
At least 3 months of customer service experience
Passion for providing exceptional customer service
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, can‑do attitude
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco and able to work around slot machines (NV only)
Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration to get the job done
Quick thinker who can react to change
Physical Requirements
Frequently stand, walk, bend, twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk and listen
Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 20 lb, occasionally up to 65 lb
Work safely in conditions that include heat, cold, allergens, noise, and fumes/chemicals from gasoline and cleaning chemicals
Assistant Manager in Training positions are temporary, as individuals in this role are expected to successfully transition into management or other positions within the company during the training period.
